UL, cUL, cULus, ULC - Underwriters Laboratories Inc. is an independent nonprofit organization that tests and certifies products for safety. ULC is issued by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada, part of the UL family of companies, and cUL is issued by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. These logos and acronyms are "certification marks". They indicate that the product has been tested by a third-party laboratory and the design, construction, and performance is certified to meet nationally recognized standards. You may see multiple marks on a product to denote both Canadian and United States certification.
